Poached Pears in White Wine with Plum Sauce

                                                   A truly heart-warming dessert recipe leveraging on the pear’s natural sweetness.

Ingredients

Medium pears 4
Dry Chinese orange peel (Optional)  10g
White wine  300ml
Sugar  200g
Cinnamon stick  10g
Water  500ml

Method

1 Peel and de-core the pears. Soak dry Chinese orange peel in water and set aside.
2 Boil cinnamon stick and sugar in water until light golden colour.
3 Lower the heat and add in pear, white wine, Plum Sauce and cook until pear becomes tender and soft for approximately 10 minutes then serve

Tips

1 Lee Kum Kee (Professional) Plum Sauce gives the same rich fruity taste as other jams, but at a much lower cost!
